"Am I missing out on something?"

Updated: May 18, 2021

It's been a while since I wrote something, so here I am. It's been tough to maintain consistency at the blog guys, believe me. This JEE preparation hasn't spared me much time to sit down and pen my thoughts down. So, it was just yesterday morning while I was drinking my daily watermelon juice and having some eggs, when I thought, "am I missing out on something?" Anyways, I left the table, returned to my room and tried studying, but I couldn't. That one thought that came to my mind few minutes ago kept bothering me. Skip to the evening that day and I was in my balcony, standing and looking at the kids running here and there playing some lame random games. They kind of reminded me of my past, when me and my friends from my colony would use to gather and play cricket, football and badminton and what not. We were such rebels. Numerous adults tried to take our grounds away from us but boy oh boy did we back down! Anyways, as I was seeing the kids play, my sight went on the sky above. I saw some random shapes that the clouds were forming. Saw some birds flying here and there and just, the total peace that was there up in the sky soothed my body. That was the time when I finally found the answer to my stubborn question. All along, for years, I've been missing out on these very things! All these small things that we tend to ignore! Ok tell me one thing, when was the last time you woke up early just to see the sunrise from your rooftop and witnessed it in its full glamour and grace? You don't remember that time do you!? Tell me when was the last time you were so excited for the rain to pour down and you went outside just to have your own rain dance and jump around in the puddles and not just for the sake of some social media story. Or, when was the last time you gazed at the sky, looking for some fantastic shapes and sizes the clouds come in? I'm sure you don't remember almost any of the times I just asked you about. But here's the thing, I don't remember any of them either! Yesterday, at the balcony, I finally realized what were the biggest and the most beautiful things I was missing out on, on a DAILY BASIS! Our routines have put us in such conditions that we don't even care to acknowledge what magnificent gifts mother Earth gives us on a daily basis. For instance, do you remember when did you last stargazed? Although, it's not technically possible to do that in Delhi-NCR region, because of a very intriguing reason. A friend of mine told me the reason behind it, and it's because of 'light pollution'. Basically, all the city lights of metropolitan cities just make it way difficult for the star-light to make way to our eyes and hence, no stargazing😭. But, side note, If you happen to visit the Death Valley in the USA, make sure to stargaze at night it's one of the world's best spot to do so💖.

Anyways, my point is, we have just forgot to make way for these things to stay relevant in our lives, and that's sad. I used to think that the nature's beauty is at its best, ONLY when you go to places like Switzerland (with the beautiful mountain ranges and what not), Norway (the northern lights!), Ladakh etc. But I have figured out that all these years, I was wrong about the "ONLY" part of my opinion. Nature is at its best literally EVERYWHERE on the Earth! The sunrise, the sunset, the clouds, the rain, the snow, they're all magical and are present everywhere on the earth!! One doesn't need to go to Switzerland or Norway to witness the sheer glamour that our nature exudes into the world everyday!

So, I guess I've clearly stated the message behind this piece of writing, which is '"WE NEED TO TAKE OUT SOME TIME OUT OF OUR ROUTINES AND WITNESS THE SHEER BEAUTY THAT IS LITERALLY PRESENT WHENEVER WE LOOK UP TO THE SKY". Ok that wasn't the exact message and I could have made it more concise, but you get the point😂🙈.

Beautiful blog but you already know I don't relate much with the part about the rain lol. Except for the times I experienced rain in India, those were some fun times.
